About Kristina...

Kristina Murray MS, LAC is a compassionate and dedicated counselor with over six years of experience supporting individuals in their journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. Kristina specializes in working with military populations and individuals facing a range of challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, grief, suicidal ideations, and self-harm. She is passionate about empowering clients to navigate their struggles and develop sustainable strategies for personal transformation.

Kristina earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of her clients. As an eclectic therapist, she blends mindfulness-based practices with evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She firmly believes that every individual has the strength to overcome life’s challenges with the right tools and support.

 

Kristina is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior. Her dissertation proposal, "Influence of Media on African American Fathers," reflects her dedication to exploring critical social issues and their impact on family dynamics and mental health.

Kristina’s client-centered approach fosters a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. She is committed to providing a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard and empowered to take control of their healing process. Kristina works with individuals at all life stages, from teens to advanced adulthood, and is deeply invested in helping them cultivate resilience and emotional well-being.

In addition to her clinical work, Kristina serves as an adjunct professor at Arizona Western College, where she teaches aspiring counselors and shares her passion for mental health education. Through her role in academia, Kristina is dedicated to shaping the next generation of mental health professionals and contributing to the growth of the field.

Her ultimate goal is to guide clients toward a brighter future, equipping them with the tools and skills necessary to achieve lasting change and continue growing long after therapy ends.
