The Journey from MBM to AMH
Why the Change?
For those of you who know me personally or have me as your therapist, you're probably aware that I have a bit of a sense of humor (I mean, who doesn't love a good pun?). When I chose our new name, it was partly because our logo is an atom and my last name is Adams. After all, "Adams/atom" sounded like a fun play on words.

But honestly, it's not just about the pun. Atoms represent the very core of everything—the building blocks that create and connect all things. And just like a single atom, mental health often goes unseen. But when we take the time to build the tools and skills to understand and care for our mental health, we unlock an incredible strength—much like discovering something powerful at the heart of an atom.

When I first started this practice, it was just me, one office, and a whole lot of hope. As we grew, it became clear that, just like the natural process of growth, change is essential for us to continue evolving. Now we're a team of providers across four locations, and "MindByMya" didn't quite fit anymore. The name needed to reflect the inclusive, collaborative practice we'd become.

What’s Staying the Same?
Still the same (but refreshed) atom logo. Still the same "Where your mind matters!" slogan. Still the same (but growing) team that actually gives a damn. Just bigger, more inclusive, and ready for what's next!

The Mindful Moments blog stays right here at mindbymya.com. Because while the practice has grown beyond just me, these are still my words, my perspectives, my voice.

One more thing that's staying the same: This blog is not therapy, and reading it doesn't make me your therapist (I wish professional relationships were that easy to establish, but alas). These posts are meant to inspire, educate, and maybe make you think differently about mental health—but they're not a substitute for actual mental health treatment. If you're struggling, please reach out to a licensed professional (like, you know, the team at Adams Mental Health, or literally any qualified therapist you vibe with). If you're in crisis, call 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or head to your nearest emergency room. The internet is great for a lot of things, but it can't replace real, individualized care.

What’s Next?
Adams Mental Health continues to grow with our expanding team of dedicated providers, four locations across the Valley, and new offerings like group therapy and parent support coming soon! We're still deeply committed to your care, and we're excited about what's coming.

Visit us at adamsmentalhealth.com to meet our team, explore our services, access resources, or get in touch. There's a lot more to come, and we can't wait to take this journey with you.

About the Blog
(aka Why I Keep Writing These Things)
Here's the deal: I write when something won't leave me alone.

Sometimes it's a theme that keeps showing up in sessions—like every client that week is struggling with boundaries, or people-pleasing, or feeling like they're failing at being human. Sometimes it's what's happening in my own life (therapists are people too, shocking I know). Sometimes it's the time of year—because yes, certain months really do hit different when you're working on your mental health. And sometimes it's a response to what's happening in the larger world we all live in, mental health legit does NOT exist in a vacuum.

Whatever the topic, you'll probably find a bit of humor woven in, a social justice lens, and a focus on personal empowerment. I'm not interested in surface-level self-care advice or toxic positivity. I want to get you thinking, talking with people in your orbit, and approaching mental health from perspectives you maybe haven't considered before. My goal? Growth. Connection. And maybe—just maybe—radicalizing you toward self-compassion. (Yes, I want to radicalize you! Because treating yourself with kindness in a world that profits from your self-criticism? That's about as radical as it gets.)

Fair warning: You'll also find shameless plugs for Adams Mental Health from time to time. When we launch something new or I think our services might help you, I'm going to mention it. That's just how it is.

These posts get shared via email with our practice mailing list, I try to make social media posts for them as well, but they live here permanently. So poke around. Read what speaks to you. And if something resonates, share it with someone who needs to hear it.
